The right moment matters more than you think
An energy drink without caffeine wouldn't be much of an energy drink. Caffeine is the part that actually does something — and we're upfront about that. But here's what most brands don't talk about: caffeine has a time and a place. Use it right, and it's a great tool. Use it at the wrong moment, and it works against you.
What caffeine actually does
Caffeine is a stimulant. In simple terms, it blocks adenosine — the molecule that builds up in your brain over the day and makes you feel tired. Less perceived tiredness, more wakefulness. That's why it's a classic before training, a long drive, or a demanding afternoon. Nothing magic — just a well-understood mechanism.
The catch: caffeine has a long half-life
Here's what's easy to forget: caffeine stays in your system for hours. Its half-life is roughly 5–6 hours — meaning half of what you drank at 6 p.m. is still circulating around midnight. And we're not all equal here: genetics make some people fast caffeine-metabolisers and others slow. If you've ever had "just one" coffee in the afternoon and then stared at the ceiling at 1 a.m., you know which type you are.
So when does an energy drink make sense?
Daytime training, early sessions, long efforts, the 3 p.m. wall at work — ideal. The closer you get to bedtime, the more caffeine and good sleep start to work against each other. A common rule of thumb: if you're caffeine-sensitive, keep it out of the last 6–8 hours before sleep. And it's worth protecting that sleep — it's where your body actually recovers.
Our honest admission
Here it gets personal. A lot of us train in the evening. And we run into exactly this dilemma: after a late session we'd love to reach for a can of RECOVERGY ourselves — but caffeine and sleep don't mix. An energy drink is, by design, a daytime tool.
So we've started thinking seriously about a caffeine-free version of RECOVERGY: the same clean formula — electrolytes, vitamins, zero sugar — just without the stimulant. Something you could drink after an evening workout without lying awake afterwards.
Where to tell us
Aria VegaWe're not promising it yet — first we want to know if it's something you'd actually want. That conversation is happening over on our Instagram and Facebook. If a caffeine-free RECOVERGY sounds like your thing, that's the place to let us know.
